Our purpose built Library is a modern, flexible learning area. It is well resourced with an extensive collection of books and other resource material, computers, laptops, iPads and Interactive Whiteboards. It is equipped with wireless technology.
The Library provides library and information literacy programs and resources, extending across all key learning areas. These programs, developed by the Teacher-Librarian in conjunction with classroom teachers, aim to foster a love of reading and the development of information literacy skills including technology skills. During school time, class groups come to the Library for class borrowing time and also for Library Activity time. In activity time, the children work with the Teacher-Librarian and the class teacher to complete research, computer based activities or literature activities. All activities are related to the classroom curriculum.
Opening hours
The library is open from 8.30am every morning and during both lunch breaks for games, reading, borrowing and computer access. As the Library stays open until 3.15pm on most afternoons, it is also possible for children to borrow books after school.
Children are encouraged to ensure their library books are returned on time.
