Mourilyan School has an active and broad leadership program. All Year 6 students have an opportunity to become school leaders. They embark on a number of tasks including peer mentoring younger students, helping the teachers on duty at morning tea /lunch time and organising school events.
The leadership organisation is:

- Publicity Officers
- Library Monitors
- Sports Equipment Officers
Each year, the students elect Year 6 students to represent them as the STUDENT COUNCIL. Fundraising is coordinated through discos, casual dress days and the annual Obstathon. Annual class camps/excursions are subsidised by Student Council Obstathon fundraising. This aims to help each child have the opportunity to attend school outings with their peers. Student Council also supports a variety of charities.
